One bonus of being back in the US is opening Friday’s New York Times to that waft of newsprint and a Manohla Dargis byline. The latest offering from Steven Spielberg (and his 30th collaboration with John Williams) is a most welcome distraction. I hope it makes piles of money.

In an homage to the camp of yesteryear like The Naked Gun or Airplane!, RuPaul and company are taking us on a Pride month giggle-fest with this movie. The reviews are mixed, but as long as the comedy delivers, we’ll walk out more chipper than when we sat down.
TELEVISION
Best of the World
National Geographic / Disney+ / Hulu
Antoni Porowski has really carved out a niche for himself in the food and travel space. Following No Taste Like Home, he now leans into world travel on a “quest to find the best.” This glossy travelogue is the easiest and most charming form of escapism we can ask for right now.
BOOKS
Villa Coco
by Andrew Sean Greer
For me, only the UK cover will do. The Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Less returns with a charming tale of a young man, a baroness and an Italian villa. Pure delight.
Bon weekend!
