The Weekend Read No. 25
Let the distractions begin!
THEATRE
Death of a Salesman
A Noise Within | Pasadena, CA
While the Broadway production of Arthur Miller’s classic play is the shiny treat on the Great White Way (with Nathan Lane and Laurie Metcalf), those of you on the west coast of the U.S. can march yourselves to one of the best classic theatre stages in the country - A Noise Within in Pasadena, where their own production has just opened.
Henry V
West End
RSC’s new production has landed on the West End and the world is certainly having a “once more unto the breach, dear friends” kind of moment. Alfred Enoch tackles the lead and I’m only sorry I haven’t been able to see it yet.
TELEVISION
Ken Burns Presents: Henry David Thoreau
PBS
With narration by George Clooney and Jeff Goldblum, this new documentary about the Transcendentalist writer from Massachusetts will be a good moment of reflection and discovery.
Love Story: John F. Kennedy, Jr. & Carolyn Bessette
FX | Hulu | Disney+
If you were waiting to see it all in one go, the entire series is now available to stream. There’s some incredible writing that I think Edward Albee would approve of. And I have gushed over the soundtrack before, but hearing Fiona Apple on one of the final episodes really brought me back.

Byrontology: Five Years Married and Something Feels Off | Episode 4
I don’t think I fully understood what our pal, the wonderful writer, Byron Lane was up to with Byrontology until I saw his explanation about it to his mother in Instagram. But this newest episode - which reflects on courtship, marriage and what comes next -is a real charmer.
Bon weekend, all!
